Roll Call for the Ui Fiachrach - Descendants of the Raven

Post by RGwinn57 »

I have just joined the forum and decided to call out to all who are likely of Ui Fiachrach descent based on surname and terminal SNP. I am a Gwinn who is R-FGC52024 positive. My ancestor Robert Gwin Sr. (1715c -1789c) settled along the Great Calfpasture River by 1744 if not sooner and likely came to Virginia on the ship Walpoole in 1738. We are believed to have been originally O'Cuinns before the name was anglicized.

Grace here, just following the Y-DNA which seems to point to Ui Fiachrach. Descended from John Flanagan born abt 1767, and may have been the grandson of Thomas Flanagan of Old Swedesboro/Salem NJ

Thanks, everyone, for giving this a try. I hope it takes off, and discussions can be less circumspect without FTDNA monitoring.

Tim McEvoy here,my father was Roger Lee Gwinn of Meadow Bridge, WV... from the same line mentioned by cousin Ron Gwinn in a previous post. I've tested positive for FGC52028 through yseq which is coincident with FGC52024. Glad to see everyone here, hopefully we see more soon
