Russ,
It looks like you got the email OK. If not, and you were able to fix the difficulty another way, then please check your SPAM folder.
As a VERY loose guide, when comparing BigY 700 test results, there are ~89 years between the occurrence of each SNP. With BigY 500 tests the factor is ~125 years per SNP. Mind you, it has to be SNPs, not INDELS or other types of mutations. The problem is the 2 Hegarty men are only BigY tests, so IDK if the 125 years per SNP is valid. But assuming it is close enough, then looking at the R1b-FGC32835 clade, you could approximate the time of the FGC32835 occurrence as:
13 SNPs from Haggerty #FTDNA-214610 to R1b-FGC32835.
8 SNPs from Hegarty #FTDNA-319915 to R1b-FGC32835.
So, an average of 10.5 SNPs for the Hegarty men.
10 SNPs from your father to R1b-FGC32835.
So, 10.25 average SNPs X 125 years per SNP = ~1281 years before your father and the Hegarty men, and assuming their ages are ~60, then 2020 AD - 60 - 1281 = ~679 AD ± AT LEAST 200 years.
Please bear in mind this is a VERY crude calculation with AT LEAST a margin for error of ± 200 years. And there is a major caveat with this calculation because the Hegarty men only have BigY tests, not even BigY 500 tests, so I am not sure if the 125 years per SNP for BigY 500 tests is valid. So please take this estimate with a healthy dose of skepticism.
