Cenél nEógain Campbells

Post by Webmaster »

FYI, we also have several Campbell men in the R1b-S588 Uí Néill, Cenél nEógain clade.
  1. 2 under R1b-FGC57760, which seems to contain the Cland Conchobair Maig Ite.
  2. 7 under R1b-A9884, which may possibly be indicative of the Cenél Feradaig.
  3. 2 just under R1b-S588, so not really placed yet.
Both R1b-FGC57760 and R1b-A9884 are subclades of R1b-S603. This, along with the R1b-ZZ87 Cenél Maín surnames, leads to speculation as to whether R1b-S603 may be at least some of the descendants of Muiredach son of Eógan.

R1b-FT165097, which contains several Hagan men, then becomes a possibility for the Cenél Tigernaig, especially if Tigernach was indeed a son of Eógan as the Book Of Ballymote records, and not a grandson. Of course, all of this can radically change if new unifying mutations are discovered and some of these direct subclades of R1b-S588 get grouped together under any new unifying mutations.

If anyone has ideas as to whom the progenitors are of any of the other direct subclades of R1b-S588 OR R1b-DF85, please post them. Thanks.
