Sorry I have been away for a while. We lost our only son on April 6, 2023. He was to continue my grandmother's and my sixty plus years of family research. Now I don't know where to go with any of it since my other family members have no interest.

Re: End of my line. My only son.
Patrick Alan Monroe, age 33, of Overland Park, Kansas, perished from injuries sustained during a mountain walking accident on April 6, 2023 on the northeast side of Beinn a’ Chleibh mountain near Tyndrum, Scotland.
Patrick was born on June 7, 1989 to Mark and Joanne (Hysell) Monroe in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After Patrick graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School, Overland Park, KS, in 2007, he went on to study Film and Media at the University of Kansas.
Before graduating from KU in 2012, he started his career as an intern with Wide Awake Films which kick started his career in the film industry. He worked various roles in sound design, film editing, and lighting before settling as a Key Grip. Patrick started his independent business known as Arrowpoint Grip and Electric. He was a member of IATSE Local 493. Aside from his work, Patrick, an Eagle Scout, lived a life of adventure! He found peace with nature and traveled to the mountains whenever possible, with major highlights being the Rocky Mountains from Montana to New Mexico, and summiting Mount Kilimanjaro prior to embarking on his life mission of ‘Bagging the Munros’ in the Scottish Highlands. Patrick loved and honored his Scottish heritage and Clan Munro.
A man who valued life and others, Patrick was often described as someone who was a friend to all. He was a light when times were dark, and he cared extensively for others. He made deep connections and was often seen with a smile on his face. Conversations and time shared with others always ended in one of his soul-touching hugs.

Re: End of my line. My only son.
Mark,
Our deepest sympathies go out to you and your family for this tragic loss. There are no adequate words.
You are always welcome here. Hopefully someone else may pick up the torch for retracing your heritage. I too fear that upon my death, there will be no one to man the helm to continue our research into the Genelach Dáil Cuinn. I hope time proves our fears baseless.
May you find comfort in the knowledge your son had a life well lived. God bless.
